Dell EMC PowerEdge R6525 server is 1U in height and features dual second-generation AMD EPYC processors with up to 64 cores per processor. The dual-socket chassis supports up to 32x memory module slots with a maximum memory of 2TB when using Registered memory modules (RDIMM) and 4TB when using Load-Reduced memory modules (LRDIMM). The system is optimized for intense workloads including high-performance computing, virtual desktop infrastructure, and virtualization.
Dell EMC PowerEdge R6525 server supports two dual fan modules, dual power supplies, and dual AMD EPYC processors. The system offers exceptional performance, management, and security features for the modern data center. The system also supports 32x DIMMs and the latest PCIe 4.0 for improved bandwidth and connectivity.
The PowerEdge R6525 supports dual second-generation AMD EPYC processors with up to 64 cores per processor and up to 128 lanes per CPU, but it will also function with a single processor. With all 32x memory module slots loaded, it will support a maximum memory capacity of 2TB when using Registered (RDIMM) memory modules, and a maximum memory of 4TB when using Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules with up to 3200MT/s. The maximum processor thermal design power (TDP) supported in this configuration is 225W.
AMD EPYC processors have 8x memory channels, with 2x memory modules per channel, and 12x memory module slots per CPU, for a total of 32x active memory slots between both processors. When all 32x DIMMs are populated, the Dell EMC R6525 server can support a maximum of 2TB of memory with RDIMMs and up to 4TB with LRDIMMs. The server is compatible with RDIMM, and LRDIMM memory modules, as well as 3 Dimensional Stacking (3DS) memory modules.
Designed for high-performance, the system has the capacity to support multiple storage configurations for a variety of workloads. On the front of the chassis there are 10x 2.5-inch drive bays that can support the following configurations:
This platform supports PCIe 4.0 devices to ensure that it’s up-to-date with the latest technology for the next several years. The system supports up to four PCIe Gen 4 expansion cards that can be installed on the system board using expansion card risers. Both low-profile and full height are supported, as well as half-length and ¾ length. Up to 2x single-wide GPUs are also supported. A choice of network interface technologies is available through two Network Interface Controller (NIC) ports embedded on the LAN on motherboard (LOM) card, and an optional OCP NIC port integrated on the back of the system.
Whether your IT administrator manages a few servers or a few thousand, Dell EMC OpenManage systems help automate and simplify the entire server life cycle: deploy, update, monitor, and maintain. The Dell R6525 an be managed by OpenManage Enterprise, OpenManage Mobile, and OpenManage Enterprise Power Manager. All platforms are designed to save time, control costs, and increase productivity. Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 9 (iDRAC9) with Lifecycle Controller alerts admins on server issues, enables remote server management, and reduces the need to physically be near the server. Redfish, Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI), and Web Services For Management (WSMan) can also manage the system.
The Dell EMC PowerEdge R6525 is engineered to unlock the full potential of second-generation AMD EPYC processors. The server offers an easy to manage and secure platform without minimizing power. With 32x DIMMs and support for PCIe Gen 4 devices, this server can handle demanding workloads like ecommerce, databases, and high-performance computing.
