ASUS RS500A-E12-RS12U Server - System Overview
The 1U RS500A-E12-RS12U Server runs on a single 4th Gen AMD EPYC 9004 processor with AMD's 3D V-Cache technology. Supported processors can deploy up to 128 Zen 4c cores and a maximum power use of up to 400W. It also supports up to 6TB of memory running at speeds of up to 4800MHz when all 24x memory slots are filled. To handle the heat from all that power, the system includes a special cooling solution called Enhanced Volume Air Cooling (EVAC).
At the back of the system, there’s a butterfly riser that has different slots for expansion cards. It includes 1x PCIe Gen5 x16 slot, 1x PCIe Gen5 x8 slot, and an extra full-sized PCIe Gen5 x16 slot next to them. All of these PCIe 5.0 slots provide a 32GT/s bandwidth, offering double the amount of PCIe 4.0. The system can be powered by either a 1+1 redundant 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies or a 1+1 redundant 1600W/1200W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies, depending on the setup.
Remote control is enabled through the ASUS ASMB11-iKVM, by way of the integrated ASPEED AST2600 module on the motherboard. Users can manage software updates, hardware, and other system components via the web-based ASUS Control Center. While a license is required, administrators can monitor and control workstations, servers, and other devices from a central location.
