The AMD EPYC-based ASUS RS501A-E12-RS12U Server delivers up to 2TB of memory among 24x memory module slots. Standard DDR5 RDIMMs and 3DS RDIMMs are compatible with the server, providing up to 5200 MHz depending on the CPU series installed. The system is powered by a single AMD EPYC processor from the 4th or 5th generation with up to 192 Zen 5c cores and a maximum TDP of up to 360W. AMD CPUs with 3D V-Cache technology can also be installed.
ASUS RS501A-E12-RS12U Server - System Overview
On the front of the 1U ASUS RS501A-E12-RS12U there are 12x 2.5” hot-swap drive bays for U.2 or U.3 NVMe, SATA, SAS drive configurations. Depending on the server SKU, this system can be outfitted with an additional 4x 2.5” internal SATA/NVMe drive bays, allowing for a total of up to 16x all-flash NVMe drives. To boot the operating system, users are able to fill 2x M.2 slots for Gen4 x4 link or SATA mode, and up to 22110 modules. The motherboard holds 3x PCIe 5.0 slots can be accessed through the rear of the 1U chassis, plus a 1x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot. Two single-slot GPU cards can be installed for graphics intensive workloads. Power can be supplied by either 1+1 redundant 1200W /1600W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies or 1+1 redundant 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies.
The RS501A-E12-RS4 is built for use in cloud and on-premises data centers, as well as hybrid cloud environments, catering to a wide range of industries. System management is simplified through the web-based ASUS Control Center, allowing users to efficiently manage hardware, software updates, and more. While a license is required, administrators can oversee servers, workstations, and other commercial products from a single interface. Additionally, the ASUS ASMB11-iKVM module offers remote management capabilities, leveraging the ASPEED AST2600 for enhanced control via the built-in motherboard.
