The Dell EMC PowerEdge R550 server, with 2x Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 3rd generation, offers flexible storage options including SFF or LFF drive bays. With its 2U design, the front of the chassis holds up to 16x 2.5” SAS/SATA hard drives or SSDs or up to 8x 3.5” SAS/SATA hard drives or SSDs. This system can be managed using pre-installed iDRAC Direct, and optional Quick Sync 2.0. Additionally, a full-stack management integration with Microsoft, VMware, ServiceNow, Ansible and many other tools for on-premises, edge and cloud environments are also available.

The installation of up to 16x DDR4 DIMMs allows for the delivery of up to 1TB of RDIMMs supporting speeds of up to 2933MT/s. Hot-swappable power supply units with a power output of 600W Platinum Mixed Mode or 800W Platinum Mixed Mode can be used. This platform supports 3x PCIe Gen4 x16 low-profile slots and a single PCIe Gen3 x8 low-profile slot. For more network expansion options, the system also features a single OCP 3.0 slot plus a Broadcom 5720 Dual Port 1GbE On-Board LOM.
