This 5U system is designed to take on data-intensive workloads such as virtualization, databases and analytics, AI, and inferencing. There are various storage configurations that line the front of the Dell EMC PowerEdge T550 tower server chassis with drive bay options including SAS, SATA, and NVMe. This is a 2-socket system powered by 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, with up to 36 cores per socket. With support for 16x DDR4 memory module slots, it can be outfitted with a maximum memory capacity of up to 1TB offering memory speeds of up to 3200MT/s.

Dell EMC PowerEdge T550 Tower Server - System Overview

The air-cooled PowerEdge T550 tower server offers up to 6x PCIe x16 Gen4 slots, 1x OCP 3.0 slot, and 2x 1GbE LOM ports. It balances expandability and performance and offers advanced technologies such as accelerators to address enterprise-class workloads. In order to handle enterprise-class workloads, it provides cutting-edge technology like accelerators and establishes a balance between expandability and performance. Up to 2x double-wide 300W NVIDIA A40, or 5x single-wide 70W NVIDIA T4 accelerators can be loaded onto the system board. The T550 tower features the following drive bay configurations.
