Outfitted with one to four Dell PowerEdge C6615 server nodes, the PowerEdge C6600 chassis features 4x different storage configurations with the following drive bays:
- Up to 16 x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA (HDD/SSD) drives max 61 TB
- Up to 16 x 2.5-inch SATA/NVMe drives max 15.36 TB on Universal Backplane configuration
- Up to 16 x 2.5-inch on NVMe backplane
- Up to 8 x E3.s on NVMe SSDs hard drive backplane
Under the hood of each server node, Administrators can install 1x or 2 x M.2 SSDs to boot the operating system. Additionally, 2x PCIe x16 Gen5 low-profile slots plus a single OCP 3.0 x16 Gen5 slot, a micro iDRAC direct port, and a mini-display port that can be accessed through the back of each node. The system supports different operating systems and hypervisors including Canonical Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server with Hyper-V, among others. Security options include AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization, Secure Boot, Silicon Root of Trust, and more. The platform has several PSU options, depending on configuration:
- 3200W 277 VAC or 336 VDC redundant, hot swap
- 2800W Titanium 200-240 VAC or 240 VDC redundant, hot swap
- 2400W Platinum 100-240 VAC or 240 VDC redundant, hot swap
- 1800W Titanium 200-240 VAC or 240 VDC redundant, hot swap
Management of the system is through Dell’s integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) with lifecycle Controller or through the Dell OpenManage utility offering a more comprehensive management solution. Both can provide out-of-band management of the system depending on your licensing level.
