The compact ±18-inch chassis is a one-socket rack server with support for an Intel Pentium G7400/G7400T CPU with up to 2x cores and a maximum TDP of 46W, or one Intel Xeon E-2400 series CPU with up to 8x cores and a maximum TDP of up to 95W. Tailored for Near-Edge, SMB customers, and Remote Office/Branch Office (ROBO), the space saving PowerEdge R260 server is 24% smaller than its predecessor, the R250. It is equipped with a filter bezel that protects the internal hardware from dust and grease in manufacturing and retail environments, allowing air to circulate freely to the essential parts. This leads to fewer malfunctions, improved sound quality, and better power consumption.
There’s a variety of ports and slots on the back panel such as an iDRAC port, 2x USB ports, 2x Ethernet ports, and expansion slots for additional network cards. The R260 system supports up to 2x Gen4 PCIe slots on a riser and 1x PCIe slot for PERC on the system board. It is powered by a single 450W Platinum or 700W Titanium PSU and can be managed by Dell’s integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC). iDRAC allows administrators to update and monitor the system both at-chassis and remotely.
