In addition to the upfront storage bays, 2x optional 2.5-inch rear drive bays can be installed supporting SAS or SATA drive types. At full capacity, the Dell PowerEdge R7525 Server can support up to 4TB of memory using Load Reduced DIMM (LRDIMM) modules or up to 2TB using Registered DIMM (RDIMM) modules. With up to 64 cores per processor, the Dell R7525 server is adaptable and flexible offering a number of options for both traditional and emerging workloads. It offers 100% more processing cores than the previous generation R7425 server outfitted with 1st generation AMD EPYC CPUs, which topped out at 32 physical cores.
Helping manage the Dell R7525 Server is the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller or iDRAC9 with LifeCycle Controller. iDRAC is accessed through the dedicated management port on the back of the system and provides remote access to the system for inventory, status, troubleshooting, and configuration. The system offers iDRAC Direct which can be upgraded to iDRAC Enterprise for more features. Additional tools include Dell’s OpenManage Software utility for managing large groups or clusters of servers. The OpenManage mobile app is compatible with Android and iOS systems and allows administrators to access the system through a smart phone or tablet. Other software integrations and connections include Microsoft Systems Center, RedHat Ansible Modules and VMware vCenter.
