The PowerEdge R7715 server is designed to efficiently handle demanding workloads and applications, including data warehousing, eCommerce, databases, and high-performance computing (HPC). Memory speeds of up to 5200 MT/s are supported with 1x DIMM Per Channel (1DPC) or 4000 MT/s with 2x DIMMS Per Channel. The platform provides exceptional scalability and flexibility with up to 8x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots and 2x OCP NIC 3.0 slots, supporting Broadcom or Mellanox cards. It also offers two advanced cooling options: air cooling and direct liquid cooling (DLC), ensuring optimal performance under varying conditions. For booting the system, Dell offers a Boot Optimized Storage Subsystem (BOSS-N1), preserving the upfront storage. Behind the optional metal bezel, administrators can configure the system with a range of drive bay options to suit their specific storage needs.
Optional Storage ConfigurationsTwo redundant power supply configurations are available: a 1+1 800W/1100W 80 PLUS Platinum power supply or a 1+1 800W to 3200W 80 PLUS Titanium power supply. To make system management easier, the server has the Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC10) installed. iDRAC10 eliminates the need for extra software installations by enabling both local and remote access. Effective and scalable server management is made possible by its support for a RESTful API, which includes Redfish with specific extensions. For more comprehensive management of the system, Dell offer OpenManage Enterprise or OME. OME includes a power manager, update manager and an OME integration for use with VMware vCenter, plus Microsoft System Center, and Windows Admin Center.
