The PowerEdge R7725 server motherboard is equipped with up to 8x PCIe Gen5 slots, offering a mix of x8 and x16 connectors, along with 2 OCP NIC 3.0 slots, all easily accessible via the rear of the chassis. For this update, the Gen 5 OCP mezzanine card slots can be outfitted with 1GbE up to a maximum of 400GbE. Power redundancy is ensured with a choice of either dual 800W or 1100W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies, or dual 800W to 3200W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies. The front of the Dell R7725 can accommodate up to 16x drive bays in a variety of configurations, providing flexibility for storage needs. It also offers a number of storage controllers and a Boot Optimized Storage Subsystem (BOSS-N1) for booting the system either with a single M.2 drive or dual M.2 drives for redundancy.
Optional Storage Configurations
To manage the system, the server is equipped with the Dell Remote Access Controller or iDRAC10. iDRAC10 enables both local and remote administration. It automates common management tasks without requiring additional software installation. Additionally, it allows for easy scaling as infrastructure grows. It supports a RESTful API, including Redfish with Dell-specific extensions, for scalable server management. Dell’s OpenManage Enterprise utility provides more comprehensive management utilities for your whole network and can be configured to work with VMware vCenter, Microsoft Systems Center, and Windows Admin Center.
