PowerEdge
XR4000r
Server sleds supported in the Dell PowerEdge XR4000z Chassis include the nearly 1U Dell PowerEdge XR4510c and the nearly 2U Dell PowerEdge XR4520c. Only a single XR4520c server sled or two XR4510c server sleds can be installed. Optional, is a XR4000w witness server module, which acts as a tie-breaker if one server sled experiences an error in a 2-node VM cluster. The witness server has a single Intel Atom 3508 CPU with 4 cores, while the other two supported server sleds feature 3rd generation Intel Xeon D Scalable processor with up to 20 cores. Up to 256GB of RDIMM memory or up to 512GB of LRDIMM memory can be installed in either server sled. The witness sled has 16GB of memory that is soldered to the system board.
Each of the two server sleds will support up to 4x M.2 NVMe storage devices on an M.2 riser card. Additionally, a Boot Optimized Storage Subsystem N1 (BOSS-N1) with either a single or dual M.2 drives can be installed to boot the system. Network communications ports include 4x 10GbE or 4x 25GbE ports. A dedicated RJ45 management port on the server sled provides remote management of the system via the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 9.0 or iDRAC9. Additional management options include Dell’s OpenManage utility suite and optional QuickSync2.0 for use with a smart phone or tablet. iDRAC Direct can also be accessed via a dedicated micro-USB port.
