Description
Offering replication and the ability to quickly rebuild replacement drives in the event of a failure, Dell’s ME5 lineup includes 2U and 5U base storage arrays. Designed for Direct Attached Storage (DAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) Applications the system can be easily expanded through the 12Gb/s expansion protocol shared by the PowerVault ME5 appliances. The 2U base systems can be outfitted with single or dual controller, while the 5U Dell PowerVault ME5084 Storage Array comes with dual controllers by default. Options for the controller host interface include Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, and SAS, with 8x ports per array.

The Dell ME484 Expansion Enclosure can be added to any of the base arrays 2U or 5U for dramatically increased capacity. When attached to the 5U ME5084 up to 3x expansion enclosures can be used providing up to 8PB of storage. This easy to manage system makes data recovery, replication and mirroring easy with the PowerVault Manager a graphical, web-based utility to help Administrators monitor, manage, and quickly resolve issues. PowerVault Manager asl has a plugin to seamlessly connect with VMware vCenter. CloudIQ Storage Analytics provides an AI infused utility to using machine learning, telemetry and predictive analytics for proactive health monitoring.
