Array configurations include all-flash, hybrid flash, or HDD only arrays. Fully compatible with Dell’s PowerEdge line of servers including 16G, host systems can be connected to the system using several different cable types. Featuring a native block level storage area network (SAN) or direct attached storage or DAS, connections can be either switched or unswitched. The Dell PowerVault ME5084 storage array supports dual controllers for redundancy featuring a variety of connection formats.
Supported Controller CardsThe controllers offer 12GB/s read and a 10GB/s write with a 12Gb/s SAS backend protocol enabling rapid capacity expansion. Using a single Dell PowerVault ME5084 storage array, the system can support up to 2.01PB of storage. It can also be connected to up to 3x ME484 expansion enclosures for up to 8PB of storage potential from each ME5084 base enclosure. This storage array is also compatible with the 2U options represented by the ME412 and ME424 expansion enclosures.
