Gigabyte B683-Z80 Blade Server - System Overview

B683-Z80 bladeAdditional Information

Supported processors compatible with the Gigabyte B683-Z80 Blade Server support a Thermal Design Power (TDP)rating of up to 500W. That TDP includes the whole family of processors from both the 9005 and 9004 series AMD EPYC processors. Outfitted with top-of-the-line AMD EPYC 9005 series processors with 192 cores each, equates to 3,840 physical cores and 7,680 virtual threads per chassis. With 12-channel memory architecture per CPU and 24x memory module slots, the B683-Z80 supports 1 DIMM Per Channel (1DPM). Memory speed is dependent on the CPU generation as 9005 series CPUs will provide speeds of up to 6400MT/s while 9004 series processors will deliver up to 4800MT/s. There are two different SKUs for this model, one with air cooling and one with Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC).

Each of the server nodes has 2x E3.S Gen5 NVMe hot-swap bays for storage and 2x Low-profile PCIe Gen5 x16 slots for expansion, per node. There are 2x Chassis Management Controller ports on the back of the chassis for managing multiple chassis in a ring topology. Using the front management LAN ports several chassis can be connected in a star topology for maximum deployment flexibility. The system is compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems plus VMware and Citrix hypervisors.
