Gigabyte E163-S30 Edge Server

Housed in a 1U chassis, the Gigabyte E163-S30 Edge Server is designed for networking and edge applications. It has a single CPU socket compatible with 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. There are 16x DDR5 DIMM slots on the system board, when fully configured has a maximum memory capacity of 4TB. On the front of the server, there are 2x 2.5-inch Gen4 NVMe/SATA/SAS hot-swappable drive bays. To expand the capabilities of this system, there are dual PCIe Gen5 x16 slots.

Also used as a hybrid private cloud server, the Gigabyte E163-S30 server houses a single 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor. With a Thermal Design Power (TDP) rating of up to 350W, 4th gen options up to 60 cores and 5th gen supporting up to 64 cores can be installed. Using Registered DDR5 DIMMs it has a maximum memory capacity of up to 1.5TB or with 3DS versions up to 4TB is supported. Memory speeds are dependent on the CPU and memory modules installed with 4th gen CPUs offering speeds of up to 4800MT/s and 5th gen delivering up to 5600MT/s. With 2DIMMS per channel memory speeds may be reduced.

There is a single 1GbE LAN port on the rear of the server along with a 10/100/1000 management LAN port. A total of 2x hybrid Gen4 hot-swappable drive bays are available on the front of the system. A SAS card is required for SAS device support. Optional Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) is supported for advanced RAID for NVMe storage devices. A single M.2 on the system board uses a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot and is ideal for fast access storage needs or OS installation. Powering this system are dual 800W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies in a redundant configuration. Temperatures are regulated with 5x 40mm fans spinning at 30,000 rpm.
