Gigabyte G293-S42 GPU Server

The 2U Gigabyte G293-S42 server is a dual-socket system supporting 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 64 cores, a TDP of up to 350W, and DDR5 memory compatibility. To each side of the CPUs, the system offers 12x DIMMs for a total of 24x memory module slots supporting an 8-channel memory per processor architecture. When 3DS RDIMMs populate all slots with a maximum of 256GB, the server supports up to 6TB of RAM. Using standard RDIMM memory modules, it will support up to 2TB of memory. Up to 8x double-wide Gen5 GPU cards can be installed.

Gigabyte G293-S42 GPU Server - System Overview

The Gigabyte G293-S42 server is a dual root server designed for AI, AI inference, AI Training, and high-performance computing applications. In addition to 8x full-height, full-length slots for 8x double-wide performance GPUs, it also supports 2x low-profile PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for high-performance NICs. It is future-ready to support CXL 1.1 offering a disaggregate compute architecture supported via the PCIe pathways. Two 10GbE ports on the back of the system provide integrated NICs along with a dedicated management LAN port for remote access to the system.

GPUs supported on this system include those from NVIDIA, AMD, Xilinx, and Qualcomm. The system can be managed using Gigabyte’s management software suites that include the Gigabyte Management Console for a single server or Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) for multiple servers. Powering the system are dual redundant 3000W titanium level 80 PLUS PSUs.
