At 2U, the Gigabyte G293-Z22 server can accommodate up to 8x Dual slot PCIe Gen5 x16 GPUs from various manufacturers like AMD, NVIDIA, XILINX, and Qualcomm. The single-socket platform features an AMD EPYC 9004 or 9005 series processor with up to 192 cores, 384 threads, and a cTDP of up to 300W. Featuring a 12-channel memory architecture, the system delivers up to 3TB of DDR5 memory using 3DS modules, or up to 1TB when using standard 96GB RDIMMs. On the front panel, there are 4x 2.5” Gen5 NVMe, SATA, SAS hot-swappable bays and 4x 2.5” SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays.
With only that single CPU, this platform is a single root system with GPU-to-CPU interconnect via PEX PCIe switches to a pair of GPUs. High-performance GPUs, like those supported on this system, allow content creators, data scientists, researchers, and engineers to take on challenges that were previously unachievable in the fields of deep learning, 3D rendering, and high-performance computing. The maximum memory capacity is achieved when all 12x DIMMs are populated with 256GB 3DS RDIMM modules.
In addition to the storage bays on the front of the chassis, the motherboard holds 2x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 slots with support for 2280 and 22110 form factor cards. A total of 10x PCIe Gen5 slots are available on the system, with 8x are dedicated to FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 GPUs. The remaining 2x low-profile PCIe Gen5 x16 slots are for add-on cards, like high-performance NICs. To manage the system both at-chassis or remotely, several management programs are available including the Aspeed AST2600 management controller and the Gigabyte Management Console via the web. The G293-Z22 server is powered by dual redundant 300W (240V) 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies and is designed for artificial intelligence workloads and high-performance computing applications.
