The 8-bay, 2U Gigabyte G294-S45 GPU server is powered by 2x Intel Xeon 6 processors from the 6700 series with E-Cores, 6700 series with P-Cores, or 6500 series with P-Cores. It also offers support for up to 8x dual slot Gen5 GPUs. CPUs with a maximum TDP of up to 225W can be installed. The system is ideal for artificial intelligence, visual computing, high-performance computing, and more. Under the hood there are 16x DDR5 DIMM slots supported by 8-channel memory architecture. It’s compatible with standard DDR5 RDIMMs and Multiplexor Combined Ranks DIMMs or MCR DIMMs.
RDIMMs can support speeds of up to 6400 MT/s with a single DIMM per channel (1x DPC) and up to 5200 MT/s with dual DIMMs per channel (2x DPC). MCR DIMMs, are only supported with Intel P-Core CPUs in a 1x DPC configuration and can reach speeds of up to 8000 MT/s. The Gigabyte G294-S45 server supports 8x FHFL PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for up to 8x DW GPUs distributed across 4x risers, plus 2x low-profile PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. Some functions may be limited if only 1 CPU is installed. On the front of the 2U chassis there are a total of 8x 2.5-inch hot-swappable drive bays marked by blue tabs. Four of these bays support NVMe, SATA, and SAS4 configurations, while the remaining 4x are compatible with SATA and SAS4. To utilize SAS devices, a SAS card is required. NVMe drive support requires additional NVMe cables, which will occupy PCIe slots.
3+1 redundant power supply units with 3000W 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency power the system. The system comes pre-installed with the Gigabyte Management Console. Programs like Gigabyte Server Management or GSM provide more robust management features and include other software utilities like GSM Server, GSM CLI, GSM Agent, GSM Mobile, and GSM Plugin. Administrators can use the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) software to manage the system remotely or at-chassis.
