CPUs are limited to a maximum TDP of 350W. A total of 32x DDR5 memory module slots support 3DS RDIMM modules up to 256GB or up to 96GB memory modules using standard RDIMM modules. They can achieve a maximum memory frequency of up to 5600 MT/s, however, speeds vary based on the CPU generation and the memory configuration. NVIDIA’s OVX configuration specifies at least 768GB of memory and 2x Intel Xeon gold 8480 processors.
The rear panel supports 8x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots for GPUs. On the rear of the Gigabyte G493-SB4 server there are several PCIe slots for expansion options and GPUs. NVIDIA OVX specifications recommend 8x NVIDIA L40S PCIS GPUs. 2x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots directly above them are split between CPU 0 and CPU 1. On each side of these slots there are 2x low profile PCIe Gen5 x16 slots for a total of 4x PCIe slots. Each of those 4x low-profile slots are earmarked for a ConnectX-7 NIC, and at least 1x BlueField-3 NIC for the FHHL slots to conform to NVIDIA OVX specs. 1x low profile PCIe Gen4 x16 slot can also be found on the front panel. Lastly, 1x M.2 slot with a PCIe Gen3 x1 interface on the motherboard can be used to boot the OS.
Administrators can utilize the Gigabyte Management Console (AMI MegaRAC SP-X) online interface accessed through the Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller to monitor the system remotely. For more than one system, Gigabyte offers Gigabyte Server Management or GSM, which complies with Redfish and IPMI standards. The system is powered by 3+1 redundant 3000W 80 PLUS Titanium power supply units.
