Each processor supports 12-channel memory architecture and 12x memory module slots for 24 active memory module slots with both processors installed. With 1 DIMM per Channel, memory modules can operate at peak performance. For 9005 series memory speeds of up to 4800MT/s are supported. Using 9005 series processors, the system will support memory speeds of up to 6400MT/s. Using top of the line AMD EPYC 9005 series processors with 192 cores and 384 virtual threads, the Gigabyte G494-ZB0 GPU Server can deliver up to 384 physical cores and 768 virtual threads, with dual processors. There are no hard drives on this system aside from 2x Internal PCIe 3.0 slots on the system board for M.2 drives.

Chassis Options:

8x full-height, full-length gen5 x16 slots with x16 link width are for double wide GPUs up to 600W. With liquid cooling the G494-ZB0-LAP1 supports only the AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700S. The 2x front full-height, full -length PCIe x16 slots provide additional networking options than the two 10Gb/s LAN ports. There is also a dedicated management LAN (mLAN) port to manage the system remotely. Gigabyte provides free-of-charge management utilities via an integrated microprocessor on the system board. The Gigabyte Management Console is pre-installed and offers management and troubleshooting for a single server or small cluster of servers. It supports standard IPMI specifications and provides automatic event recording, plus the integration of MegaRAID storage controllers for SAS, SATA and NVMe storage devices. 

The other option is the Gigabyte Server Manager or GSM. GSM can manage a large cluster of servers simultaneously over the Internet using a standard browser. It provides remote control and provides ease of maintenance through IPMI and Redfish compliant standards. This application can be downloaded and also offers a command line interface, plus plugin for use with VMware vCenter. The system is powered by 4x 3000W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant PSUs.
