The 2U Gigabyte H253-Z10 is a front-accessible quad-node server. Each of the nodes supports a single AMD EPYC 9004 or 9005 Series CPU for up to 192 physical cores. There are 24x DIMM slots on the system board of each node for a total of 96x DDDR5 DIMM slots across the whole system. Every node has 2x 9.5mm E1.S Gen4 NVMe hot-swappable drive bays, accessible from the front of the server. Nodes also have a single PCIe Gen5 x16 low-profile slot.
With 24x DIMM slots in each node, the system has 96x DDR5 DIMM slots for a total maximum memory capacity of up to 24TB. On the front of each node, 2x 9.5mm E1.S Gen4 NVMe hot-swappable drive bays provide fast storage. Each node also has a single M.2 slot with a PCIe Gen5 x4 interface and 2x M.2 slots with a SATAIII interface. They are ideal for fast access storage needs or OS installation. In order to connect this system to the network, each node has 2x 1GbE LAN ports, one of which is an Intel I350-AM2 port.
Powering this system are 2x 3000W 80 Plus Titanium power supplies in a redundant configuration. Internal temperatures are regulated via 4x 80mm fans. There is a dedicated LAN management port on each node for remote access. Gigabyte’s high-density platforms can also be managed via the Chassis Management Controller or CMC port, of which there are two on the back of the chassis. With 2x CMC ports multiple servers can be connected in a ring configuration for greater efficiency, plus less cabling and switches. The CMC offers multimode monitoring and support by connecting the nodes internally through the integrated baseboard management controller (BMC) in each node. Each node also has the Gigabyte Management Console pre-installed giving Administrators the ability to manage a single server at a time.
