The Gigabyte R152-Z31 server comes in two variations, rev. 100 and rev. A00 each with different AMD EPYC series CPUs and memory types. The 1U rack server supports a single processor from either the 7001, 7002, or 7003 series depending on the revision. It features 8x 2.5" SATA hot-swappable HDD/SSD bays and 2x 2.5” NVMe hot-swappable SSD bays on the front panel. 2x optional M.2 drives can be installed using the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface under the hood. In addition, the system holds up to 4TB of memory when 256GB 3DS RDIMMs or 3DS LRDIMMs are installed. Half of this memory capacity is available using standard RDIMMs/LRDIMMs.
The AMD EPYC-based system supports 1x FHHL PCIe Gen4 x16 slot, 1x OCP 2.0 Gen3 x16 mezzanine slot, and can be managed by an Aspeed AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC). The R152-Z31 rack server is powered by dual 650W 80 PLUS Platinum redundant power supplies. This system is designed to support general networking applications including use as a general file server, a shared Internet connection, for virtualized environments, and a VPN connection for remote workers.
