The Gigabyte R164-S32 server is an Intel-based system designed for networking and hybrid/private cloud applications. This system supports Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processors with E-cores, Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processors with P-cores, plus Intel Xeon 6 6500 series processors with P-cores. With a single CPU, it supports 16x DDR5 RDIMMs running at speeds of up to 6400 MT/s, or Multiplexor Combined Ranks (MCR) DIMMs with up to 8000 MT/s. MCR DIMMs are only supported with Intel Xeon 6 Processors with P-cores and in a 1DPC configuration.
At 1U, the Gigabyte R164-S32 server is equipped with 12x 2.5” hot-swap drive bays on the front panel, which can be configured with NVMe Gen5, SATA, or SAS4 drives. Under the hood, there are 2x M.2 slots with a PCIe Gen5 x2 interface supporting 2280 or 22110 cards, one is shared with a front SATA drive. A single PCIe Gen5 x16 FHHL slot is mounted on a riser card, plus an additional 1x PCIe Gen5 x16 OCP NIC 3.0 slot also available. The system is powered by 1+1 redundant 1300W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies.
Several management software utilities can be deployed to monitor the R164-S32 server including Gigabyte’s Management Console (GMC) and Gigabyte Server Management (GSM). These programs allow administrators to monitor and control servers, both locally and remotely. They provide an HTML 5 user interface using a standard browser and provide information on inventory, power utilization, hard drives and can be configured to send alerts.
