The Gigabyte R182-34A server supports two 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, code named “Ice Lake.” These CPUs support up to 40 cores and a TDP of up to 205W. Featuring an 8-channel memory architecture, beneath the lid, the machine has 16x DDR4 DIMM slots. When all slots are populated with 256GB 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM modules, it can support up to 4TB of memory as opposed to only 2TB of RAM when standard RDIMMs or LRDIMMs are installed. On the front panel, the system delivers 2x 3.5" SATA, SAS, or Gen4 NVMe hot-swappable drive bays plus two more 3.5" SATA or SAS drive bays.
If installing SAS drive types, a SAS card is required. 2x 7-pin SATA DOM are supported as well as 2x FHHL PCIe Gen4 x16 slots, all powered by dual 800W 80 PLUS Platinum PSUs. The R182-34A server is ideally deployed as a networking appliance for virtual servers, hosting an intranet, and use as a file storage server, among other business-critical applications.
