AMD’s 5nm Zen 4 architecture found on the 9004 series AMD EPYC CPUs features up to 128 cores, 256 threads, and a configurable Thermal Design Power (cTDP) rating of up to 300W at ambient 30°C. Under limited thermal conditions, a cTDP rating of up to 400W can be reached. Each processor delivers 12-channel memory architecture, with 12x memory module slots per CPU, for a total of 24x DDR5 memory module slots. For additional expansion there is 1x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot, 1x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot, and 2x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. 1x PCIe x16 (Gen5 x16) FHFL slot can be used for a dual slot GPU. The latter slots become inaccessible when a dual slot GPU is inserted. The Gigabyte R183-ZF1 Server also has 2x M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 slots, one of which can accommodate 2280 and 22110 cards and the other only 2280 cards. This system is powered by 1+1 2000W (240V) 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies.
The back of this system features a dedicated 1GbE RJ45 management port. Gigabyte also provided a value-added solution to server management with the Gigabyte Server Console for managing a single server or small cluster. For larger networks, there is the Gigabyte Server Manager, or GSM. GSM is designed for data center deployments and offers a full suite of tools to help effectively manage, allocate and troubleshoot one-to-many servers.
