Ideal for networking applications and a hybrid/private cloud system, the Gigabyte R184-S91 Server supports DDR5 memory with 32x memory module slots. The memory modules are equally divided among dual Intel Xeon 6 processors with a TDP of up to 350W. Supported 8-channel memory architecture CPUs include the 6700 series processors, with either E-cores or P-cores, and the 6500 series with P-cores. If only one CPU is installed, some PCIe, memory functions, or drive bays may not be available.
The 14-bay Gigabyte R184-S91 is a 1U platform that can be configured in several different ways. The front panel holds 8x 2.5" Gen5 NVMe/SATA/SAS4 drive bays, plus 6x 9.5mm E1.S NVMe drive bays. In addition, the motherboard offers 2x internal M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 slots for 2280 or 22110 form factor cards and 1x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x2 for 2280 cards. RDIMM reach speeds of up to 6400 MT/s (1DPC) or 5200 MT/s (2DPC), meanwhile MCR DIMMs support up to 8000 MT/s but are only compatible with CPUs with P-cores.
The system is powered by dual redundant 1600W Titanium power supplies. PCIe cards can be installed in 2x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots plus additional cards can be used in 2x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slots from the rear of the chassis. LAN is provided by 2x 1Gb/s RJ45 via 1x Intel I350-AM2 with NCSI function support. To assist with server management, Gigabyte includes two free software applications. Users can deploy the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) to manage numerous servers or sizable clusters of servers simultaneously. For managing one server or a small group of servers, the Gigabyte Management Console come preinstalled.
