 
                 
                             
Featuring 8-channel memory architecture, each CPU offers 16x DIMM slots, for a total of 32x memory module slots. Memory speeds differ for RDIMMs with speeds of up to 6400 MT/s (1DPC) or 5200 MT/s (2DPC). MCR DIMMs (Multiplexor Combined Ranks DIMMs), on the other hand, support memory speeds of up to 8000 MT/s. However, MCR DIMMs can only be deployed in a 1DPC configuration, and only with Intel Xeon 6 CPUs with P-cores.
The front of the chassis holds 12x 2.5-inch hot-swappable Gen5 NVMe/SATA/SAS4 drive bays. Under the hood, there are 2x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 slots, plus 1x M.2 PCIe Gen5 x2 slot for 2280 and 22110 form factor cards. A storage card is needed to support SATA and SAS drives and a virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) key if installing NVMe drive types in a RAID configuration. The system supports 2x riser cards, each supporting a single FHHL Gen5 x16. Powering the platform are dual redundant 1600W 80 Plus Titanium power supplies.
 
	
To manage the R184-S92, Gigabyte offers two complimentary software tools. The Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) is a suite of tools designed to monitor and manage multiple servers or large clusters. The Gigabyte Management Console is preinstalled and tailored for managing a single server or a small cluster. Both management suites support local and remote management through a dedicated RJ45 management port on the back of the system.
