Gigabyte R283-S94 Server

Sporting dual 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable or Intel Xeon CPU Max series processors, the Gigabyte R283-S94 Server is designed for a variety of networking tasks. With 8x memory channels to work with and 32x DDR5 DIMM slots on the system board, it can support up to 8TB of memory. 12x hot-swappable 3.5-inch storage bays on the front of the system can be outfitted with Gen4 NVMe, SAS LITE, or SATA drive formats for storage flexibility. Two more SATA/SAS bays are in back. There are 4x full-height, half-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slots plus 2x x16 mezzanine card slots for hosting OCP 3.0 cards.

There are two versions of the Gigabyte R283-S94 server with Rev. AAC1 supporting SATA or SAS up front, while Rev. AAD1 also supports Gen4 NVMe storage devices in addition to SATA and SAS drive formats. For both, a SAS card is required for support of SAS devices. PSUs are also different as outlined below.
