Gigabyte R283-S96 Server

For applications like Networking and use as a hybrid/private cloud server, the 2U Gigabyte R283-S96 Server delivers powerful compute with dual 5th or 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors including the Intel Xeon CPU Max series. There are 12x hybrid drive bays up front that can be outfitted with gen5 NVMe, SATA and SA-4 drive types. 2x more 2.5-inch drive bays on the back of the chassis supports SATA or SAS-4 drives types and can be used for additional storage or to support the operating system.

Gigabyte R283-S96 Server - System Overview

CPUs are limited to a thermal design power (TDP) rating of 350W, and deliver 8-channel memory architecture across 32x DDR5 memory module slots. Depending on the CPU generation, installed memory modules and memory configuration, memory speeds of up to 5600MT/s are supported. Up to 4x full-heigh, half-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slots on the Gigabyte R283-S96 Server provide options for additional network interface controllers or storage controllers. For SAS applications, a storage controller is required.

For remote management of the system, Gigabyte provides two options, the Gigabyte Management Console and Gigabyte Server Management (GSM). Gigabyte Management Console comes pre-installed in the system and offers remote management through a graphical user interface (GUI) or command-line interface (CLI). GSM is for managing multiple clusters of servers, while the Gigabyte Management Console is designed to manage a single system or small cluster of servers. GSM can be downloaded and with the GSM Agent installed on each system, can consolidate health monitoring and management and complies with IPMI and Redfish standards.
