Featuring 4x dual slot Gen5 GPUs from either AMD, NVIDIA, XILINX, or Qualcomm, the Gigabyte R283-SF1 server is designed for artificial intelligence, high performance computing, and more. The system can support 2x 5th and 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, or the Intel Xeon CPU Max series. At capacity, up to 8TB of 3DS Registered DDR5 memory can be installed or up to 3TB of RAM using standard RDIMMs.
4th gen CPUs support up to 60 cores each and a maximum TDP of up to 350W with eventual support for 5th generation CPUs providing up to 64 physical cores and 128 virtual threads, each. It’s important to note that if only 1x CPU is installed, some PCIe and memory functions will not be available. With 8-channel DDR5 architecture available on each processor and 32x memory module slots, memory speed will vary depending on the CPU and memory configuration.
At only 2U, the Gigabyte R283-SF1 server offers a total of 16x SFF drive bays on the front panel. There are 12x 2.5” Gen5 NVMe, SAS4, or SATA hot-swap bays, plus 4x 2.5” SATA or SAS4 hot-swap bays. In addition to the 4x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots for GPUs, there is 1x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 slot and 1x OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 slot for next generation add-on cards. Powering the system are dual 2700W redundant 80 PLUS Titanium PSUs. The GIGABYTE Management Console is pre-installed on every server and may be used for managing and maintaining a single server or a small cluster. For managing large clusters of servers, the Gigabyte Server Manager is compatible with both Windows and linux-based operating systems.
