The Gigabyte S183-SH0 Storage Server is an ideal server for storage needs that comes in a smaller footprint. It supports up to 2x 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors and 32x DDR5 DIMM slots. Fully configured, the maximum memory capacity on this system is 8TB. Intel Xeon CPU Max Series are also supported. It includes 32x 9.5mm E1.S NVMe hot-swappable bays paired with 2x M.2 slots on the system board. 3x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots offer expansion options.
Gigabyte S183-SH0 Storage Server - System Overview
Additional Information
Housed in a 1U chassis, the Gigabyte S183-SH0 server can be outfitted with up to 64 cores using 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors or up to 60x cores using 4th gen CPUs. Each CPU sockets supports 16x DDR5 DIMM slots for a total of 32x on the system board. Depending on the choice of CPU, Memory will run at 5600MT/s using 5th gen or up to 4800MT/s using 4th gen. However, the CPU and memory configuration will impact memory speed, with some CPUs supporting lower memory speeds. Configurations with 2x DIMMs per Channel (DPC) can also reduce the memory speed. On the front of the server, there are 32x E1.S NVMe hot-swappable drive bays. The NVMe storage devices can be RAIDed using the optional Graid SupremeRAID PCIe card, either the SR-1000-FD32 or the next gen SR1010-FD32. Each CPU is connected to a single M.2 drive slot, ideal for fast access storage needs or OS installation.
There are 2x GbE LAN ports for general network communications, plus a dedicated RJ45 management port to access the integrated Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller (BMC). Additional HBAs can be added via the PCIe slots. Management of the system is either through 3rd party software suites or using the Gigabyte Server Console, which is pre-installed and suitable for a single server or small cluster. For more robust management options, Gigabyte offers the Gigabyte Server Manager, for managing multiple servers or large clusters in a large network installation or data center. This system is powered by dual 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supplies in a redundant configuration. Regulating temperatures in this server are 7x 40mm fans.
