The dual processor Gigabyte S453-S70 storage server supports 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with a TDP of up to 350W. Platinum Intel Xeon Scalable processors support up to 64 cores each, with Gold and Silver offering less cores. In addition to the 24x 3.5" SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays on the front panel, the rear of the chassis has 12x 3.5" drive bays plus 2x 2.5" bays, all are SATA/SAS hot-swappable bays. At full capacity it can support up to 512GB of DDR5 memory and offers PCIe 5.0 expansion slots.
With up to 38x SAS/SATA drive bays, the system is able to store information for any industry. An additional SAS card is needed for SAS functionality. The 2x additional 2.5" SATA/SAS bays in back can be used as boot drives of for additional storage. The scalable S453-S70 storage server's internal architecture supports 8-channel memory per processor, with each CPU in charge of 8x DIMM slots for a maximum RAM capacity of 512GB of DDR5 memory. 2x PCIe Gen4 x4 slots on the system board can be outfitted with NVMe M.2 drives supporting 2280 or 22110 form factors. 6x low-profile PCIe Gen5 x16 slots provide expansion options for drive controllers or high-speed NICs. On the back of the chassis, there are 2x 10Gb/s LAN ports (Intel X710-AT2) plus 2x 1Gb/s LAN ports (Intel I210-AT), and an RJ45 serial port. The system also offers a single dedicated management port and dual 1600W 80 Plus Titanium redundant power supplies.
