Part of Gigabyte’s X-Series line of servers, the 2U Gigabyte XH23-VG0-AAJ1 Arm Server has storage, I/O panel and power supply units on the front of the chassis for easy access in the data center. 4x storage bays up front support 2.5-inch gen5 NVMe drive bays. The Grace Hopper hybrid CPU supports up to 72 Arm Neoverse V2 cores and is paired with up to 96GB to 144 GB of HBM3 GPU memory, all linked together using NVIDIA’s NVLink technology for up to 900GB/s. With up to 480GB CPU LPDDR5X ECC memory incorporated into the superchip, this platform also represents the first data center implementation of Low-Power Double Data Rate (LPDDR) memory. LPDDR memory offers energy efficiency but is also typically used for mobile devices and tablets because of its small footprint.
Two M.2 slots on the system board feature a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface for support of the OS or a hypervisor. Dual redundant 2000W 80 PLUS Titanium PSUs provide power to the system. Three full-height, half-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slots can be used for a number of expansion options including up to 3x NVIDIA BlueFeild-3 DPUs offering up to 100GB/s data transfer speeds. 2x 10GbE ports provide integrated network interface controllers (NICs). The system comes pre-installed with Gigabyte’s Management Console, which offers maintenance and management utilities for a single server or small cluster and can be accessed through the dedicated mLAN port. For managing clusters of servers simultaneously, there’s the Gigabyte Server Management or GSM. GSM also has a plugin for compatibility with VMware vCenter for real-time monitoring and management. Other GSM utilities include the GSM mobile app and command-line interface (GSM CLI). The system supports Linux Ubuntu, Red Hat and SUSE SLE Operating systems.
