The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen7 server provides high-performance, flexible expansion, and impressive storage capabilities. The system has advanced server management features with HPE's iLO 3.0 controller delivering remote access that's almost eight times faster than previous generations. Intel's Xeon 5600 series processors automatically adjust server performance according to application needs and intelligently regulate power consumption.
This system can support up to two Intel Xeon 5503 2-core processors or choose from several Xeon 5600 series six-core, quad-core, or dual-core processors. Intel's Turbo Boost Technology uses available power to increase processor frequency for faster performance.
In a two processor configuration, the HPE DL380 Gen7 will support 12 DDR3 memory modules running at speeds up to 1333MHz. With 32GB registered (RDIMM) memory modules in all twelve slots, the system will support a maximum of 384GB of memory in a dual-processor configuration. Unbuffered (UDIMM) memory is also supported on the system for applications that are less memory intensive, and will only support up to 48GB using 2GB memory modules. Mixing different types of memory modules is not supported.
Up to sixteen SFF SAS hot plug drive bays are supported on this system, but this configuration does not support an optional optical drive bay. In addition, another Smart Array or Smart SAS expander PCIe card will need to be installed to manage the second HD tray. In a single processor configuration, the system supports a maximum of eight SFF SAS hot plug drive bays with the option to add a slimline optical drive bay. A maximum internal storage capacity of 24TB is provided with a six LFF drive bay tray, but this configuration does not support the optical drive.
A single riser can support three PCIe slots and a second riser can be added with three additional slots to support a maximum of six expansion slots. Both the primary and secondary risers have options with a mix of PCIe and PCI-X slots.
HPE's iLO 3.0 controller provides virtual media services three times faster than the iLO 2.0 controller, and remote management is now eight times faster than before. This system offers a variety of advanced management tools, such as video playback and power management features, with the purchase of an upgraded license. Detailed reports on asset management and server operations are displayed on a smart browser interface with HPE's Insight Control software to simplify server management.
The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen7 server packs high performance, flexible expansion options, and large internal storage capacity into a 2U chassis. Xeon 5600 series processors support Intel's Hyper-Threading technology to deliver higher processing throughput and improved energy efficiency. HPE's "Sea of Sensors" technology adds 32 smart thermal sensors to the system to automatically control fan speeds in the chassis reducing energy consumption and cost while enhancing server performance. Server deployment and serviceability is hassle-free with the addition of a quick-deploy rail system and tool-free modular components.
