Engineered for high-density hybrid bulk storage, the HPE Alletra Storage Server 4140 delivers the latest technology in a compact 4U chassis. This system is available in two configurations: The base chassis and the expanded chassis. The base chassis supports up to 60x 3.5” drive bays, with an optional rear drive cage that accommodates up to 8x EDSFF or 4x NVMe 2.5” SSDs. The expanded chassis offers increased storage with support for up to 92x 3.5” drive bays. Similar to the base chassis, it also includes an optional rear drive cage for up to 8x EDSFF or 4x NVMe 2.5” SSDs.

Depending on the drives installed, the system can support up to 1,840TB of raw capacity using SAS or SATA storage devices. Compatible with dual 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors supporting up to 32 cores each and a maximum TDP of 205W, the Alletra Storage Server 4140 can be tailored to meet diverse workload demands. With up to 12x DDR5 RDIMMs per processor, the system can support a total of 24x memory modules. It offers a maximum capacity of 1.5TB of memory operating at speeds up to 5200MT/s.
Up to 4x full-height half-length PCIe Gen5 slots and 2x OCP 3.0 slots offer opportunities for expansion, but only with dual processors installed. 4x HPE Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) PSUs are each capable of providing up to 2200W of power. Optional hardware configurations include mirrored dual M.2 NVMe SSDs or directly attached dual M.2 NVMe SSDs to boot the system and further enhance system flexibility and performance.
