Designed for the HPE BladeSystem c3000 and c7000 server blade enclosure, the half-height HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10 Server Blade features dual 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. With both processors installed the system supports up to 2TB of memory and has 2x hot-swappable drive bays on the front of the system. Workloads supported include use in a converged infrastructure and the ability to compose assets as needed.
Intel Xeon Scalable Processors (SP) from the 1st or 2nd generation are supported on the HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10 Server Blade. CPUs from the Bronze, Silver, Gold or platinum families are supported providing 4x to 22x cores each with a thermal design range of up to 150W per CPU.
HPE BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure
Load-Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM) and Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) DDR4 memory modules can be installed in varying quantities. With 6x memory module channels per CPU, and 16x memory module sockets, the system will support a maximum capacity of up to 2TB using 128GB LRDIMM memory modules or only 1TB using standard RDIMM memory modules. 1st gen Intel SPs feature memory speeds of up to 2666MHz, while 2nd gen Intel SPs will provide speeds of up to 2933MHz.
2x hot-swap storage bays on the front of the chassis can be configured with SAS or SATA drive types. Standard on this blade server is the integrated S100i SR Gen10 software RAID controller or administrators can opt for the HPE Smart Array modular controller with 1GB Flash-Backed Write Cache (FBWC). HPE drives prior to Gen 8 are not supported. There is a micro SDHC Slot on the system board and an internal USB 3.0 connector, which are intended for integrated hypervisor virtualized environments.
2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots provide options for network connectivity and HD controllers. Quad-and dual-port mezzanine cards are supported providing redundancy to connect to the interconnect modules on the enclosure. Mezzanine card options for network communication speeds include dual-port 20Gb and 10Gb flex-Fabric, 16Gb fibre channel for HBA and SAN plus QDR and FDR InfiniBand for low-latency and high bandwidth, among others.
Designed for a composable infrastructure as a part of the HPE BladeSystem c3000 or c7000 enclosures, the ProLiant BL460c Gen10 Server Blade offers immediate scalability in a half-height form factor. BladeSystem enclosures provide a fast return on investment utilizing a shared resource with the enclosure providing the power, cooling, network connection, and management functions, while the blade provides the compute, memory and storage. The system is also managed from a single point through HPE OneView, which leverages the Integrated Lights Out (iLO) management module for at chassis and remote management of the system.
