Configuration options include up to 8 to 144 cores, providing the HPE ProLiant Compute DL320 Gen12 with the capabilities to deliver exceptional performance for cloud-native, containerized, and scale-out environments. The system can be outfitted with Intel Xeon 6700P or 6500P-series processors for up to 86 physical P-cores and 172 virtual P-cores using Intel’s hyper-threading technology. Using 6700E/6500E-series CPUs, the system can deliver energy efficiency with up to 144 E-cores and 144 virtual E-cores.
Both the 6700 and 6500-series CPUs offer 8-channel memory architecture distributed across 16x memory modules slots. Supported memory includes DDR5 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) with a data transfer rate of up to 6400MT/s with 1 DIMM Per Channel or up to 5200MT/s with 2 DIMMs Per Channel (2DPC). At full capacity, with all memory module slots outfitted with 256GB memory modules, the system can deploy up to 4TB of memory.
Chassis Options
The 12-bay LFF chassis features 4x drive bays up front and 8x more housed internally. To boot the system, HPE offers a boot optimized subsystem, with 2x NVMe M.2 drives that can be linked with a RAID 1 for resiliency. Some of the chassis configurations support an optional optical device. Depending on the chassis, the system also offers front or rear-facing I/O. Also dependent on chassis and configuration, up to 6x PCIe Gen 5.0 slots are available for expansion, also 2x OCP 3.0 mezzanine card slots for additional I/O options. Powering the system are dual redundant 1+1 PSUs.
