Offering a 2U chassis with a single socket, the HPE ProLiant Compute DL340 Gen12 Server is designed for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) workloads. It offers 3x different chassis for SFF, LFF, and GPU configurations, some with EDSFF drive cages. In addition to a single intel Xeon 6 CPU with up to 144 cores, it also supports up to 4x double-wide GPUs.
Intel Xeon 6 6700-series or the 6500-series processors can be installed in the HPE ProLiant Compute DL340 Gen12 Server. CPUs with either performance cores (P-Cores) or efficiency cores (E-Cores) are supported depending on the workload. P-cores excel at compute-intensive, vector-based workloads such as AI, while E-Cores are best suited to performing task-parallel, scalar-based workloads and are also more energy efficient. Both offer an 8-channel memory architecture, and with 16 memory module slots, the system can support up to 4TB or DDR5 Registered DIMMs (RDIMMs). Depending on chassis type and system configuration, there are options for storage, including a mix of SFF and EDSFF drive bays.
Storage Configurations:
Depending on configuration, the system has up to 6x PCIe 5.0 slots and 2x OCP 3.0 mezzanine card slots with a x16 interface. The OCP 3.0 slots can be located in the front or rear of the chassis and can be used to support NICs or a small form factor storage controller. The front OCP slots are not supported on the 12-bay LFF chassis. This system can also be outfitted with a boot optimized storage subsystem, which offers dual M.2 NVMe drives to boot the system in a RAID 1 configuration.
With the GPU chassis, GPUs are housed in the front to either side of the central storage bay. This unit can be outfitted with up to 4x single-wide or 4 double-wide GPUs. For managing the system, HPE offers integrated Light’s Out 7 (iLO7) Standard which offers limited remote capabilities. With iLO7 Advanced you get a full suite of remote capabilities for managing, and monitoring the system. For more robust management features across the entire infrastructure, there’s HPE OneView. OneView Standard can be downloaded. However, for remote management OneView Advanced with iLO7 Advanced is required along with licensing for each server to be managed.
If you know what you want but can't find the exact configuration you're looking for, have one of our knowledgeable sales staff contact you. Give us a list of the components you would like to incorporate into the system, and the quantities, if more than one. We will get back to you immediately with an official quote.
