Designed for applications requiring high-performance compute and a large memory footprint, the 1U HPE ProLiant DL365 Gen10 Plus Server can be outfitted with two AMD EPYC 7003 (MILAN) or 7002 (ROME) series processors. It supports up to 10x small form factor drive bays up front and has a maximum memory capacity of up to 8TB.
Addressing a need for virtual desktop infrastructure and in-memory database processing, the HPE ProLiant DL365 Gen10 Plus Server offers a high-density platform for space constrained environments and provides built-in security features. Supporting 2x AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 series processors, this system offers fast memory speeds and PCIe Gen 4.0 capabilities for increased compute performance. With a memory capacity of up to 8TB, this system is a must for compute-intensive applications.
Dual AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processors can be installed and offer up to 64x physical cores and 128 virtual threads, per socket. AMD indicates the 7003 series MILAN processors deliver a 19% increase in compute performance, plus improved security, better caching, and improved memory support. AMD EPYC processors also support PCIe 4.0, which offers twice the throughput compared to PCIe 3.0. 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes are available, plus 8x memory channels supporting up to 4TB per socket.
With 8x memory channels per socket, each socket has 16x memory module slots for 32x active memory module slots in a dual processor configuration. Registered (RDIMM) and Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported. With one or two RDIMMs per socket, memory speeds of up to 3200MT/s are supported. However, if using LRDIMM with 256GB capacity then 3200MT/s is only supported with 1x DIMM Per Channel (DPC). With 2x DPC, memory speed is reduced to 2933MT/s.
Storage in general includes either an 8x bay 2.5-inch chassis with option to install 2x additional drives in the universal media bay. The other option features 4x 3.5-inch drive bays. While the 3.5-inch bay option has a SAS/SATA backplane supporting the drives, the 2.5-inch bay option has a choice of backplanes for both the main drive bays and addition drive bays in the optional media bay. Options include SAS, SATA and NVMe U.2 or U.3 drives. An optional Tri-Mode backplane can be used to support up to 8x SFF U.3 drives. Other options support NVMe U.2 or SAS and SATA drives. The Universal Media Bay also has options for backplanes to support all previously mentioned drive formats. It can also be used with an optical drive. The 3.5-inch chassis also offers an optional optical drive. HPE Smart Array controllers or Tri-Mode controllers are supported but only when using 3rd generation AMD EPYC CPUs. A PCIe 3.0 x8 HPE NS204i-p offers support for dual M.2 drives and can be used to boot the system.
There are a few options for expansion opportunities on the HPE DL365 Gen10 Plus Server, depending on which riser is chosen. This system has up to 3x PCIe expansion slots supported in the Primary and secondary risers. There are two options for the Primary riser, both of which are controlled by processor 1. One includes 2x PCIe expansion slots with 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, and the other option has a x16 slot with a x8 slot. There are also two options for the secondary riser, which is controlled by processor 2. Each of the 2x options supports a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot but the size of the PCIe card supported is different. The riser with the full-height, ¾ length slot will block the second slot in the Primary riser.
Included with the system is HPE’s proprietary management suite, Integrate Lights Out (iLO) Standard, which does require a download. For more functionality, iLO Advanced or iLO Advanced OneView can be downloaded but does require a license. iLO can be used for out-of-band management of the system, to generate alerts, and allocate assets.
The HPE ProLiant DL365 Gen10 Plus Server is a flexible 1U server ideal for adding dense compute and in-memory processing. With dual AMD EPYC series processors this platform can deliver up to 128 physical cores and 256 virtual threads, plus up to 8TB of memory. This platform is flexible, adaptable and easily upgraded to provide years of use.
