Compatible processors on this system include those with up to 160 physical cores and 360 virtual threads with a TDP of up to 400W per CPU. Each socket supports 12x DDR5 DIMM slots, and with 12-channel memory architecture. The system only supports 1x DIMM per Channel (1DPM) for maximum memory throughput, depending on installed CPUs and memory modules. A maximum of 8x full-height, full-length PCIe 5.0 expansion slots can be found on the rear of the HPE DL385 Gen11 server. The front of the system houses a number of drive types including, SATA, SAS, U.3 NVMe, and EDSFF E3.S.

*There are a number of restrictions regarding storage configurations. Please consult QuickSpecs and the User Guide to determine compatibility.
In addition to the storage options, this system can also be outfitted with an optional hot-pluggable boot solution that can be outfitted with 1x or 2x NVMe M.2 drives. With two M.2 drives, it can support a hardware RAID for resiliency. There are 6x fans to cool the system with redundancy built-in. However, the system can also be configured with an optional Liquid Cooling Solution. Powering the system are dual, redundant PSUs ranging from 800W to 1800W-2200W Flex Slot.
The HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 is ideal for demanding workloads that require high core counts, high storage capacity, and scalable I/O options like AI and Big Data Analytics. With up to 8x PCIe Gen 5.0 slots, it can support up to 8x single-wide or 4x double-wide GPUs, including the NVIDIA H100 94GB NVL GPU. For additional network communications, 2x OCP 3.0 mezzanine card slots are available that can support NIC or storage controller options depending on your workload. For GPU support the system must be ordered as the DL385 Gen11 GPU Configure to Order (CTO) server. For specific drive types there are also CTO server options available.
To manage the system, embedded management includes integrated Lights Out Advanced 6.0 (iLO6). iLO6 Advanced provides remote management of the system through a standard browser interface. In Addition, HPE offers OneView Standard for converged management of the entire network. Remote management using OneView requires an upgrade to OneView Advanced and iLO Advanced.
