The 2U HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 is designed for data center applications and virtualization in a dense but scalable system. This system is compatible with up to 4x 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors with each socket supporting 12x DIMM slots. On the front of the system there are 8x Small Form Factor drive bays compatible with hot-swappable SAS/SATA/SSD drives. 8x expansion slots accessible from the rear of the of the chassis provide options to support your unique workload.
Designed for high-performance computing for business-critical workloads, data center applications, and virtualization tasks, the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 Server is built on a 2U chassis compatible with quad 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Base models are available with either 2x or 4x processors with upgrades to the 2x processor versions via an optional CPU Mezzanine Board Kit. The optional CPU Mezzanine Board Kit is a separate circuit board with dual CPU sockets and 24. Memory module slots that clamps down over the base motherboard. With all 4x processors installed, a total of 48x DIMM slots can be found on the system board evenly divided between each CPU socket. When all four CPU sockets are active a maximum memory configuration of 12TB is possible. The storage solutions on this system are 8x, 16x, and 24x Small Form Factor (SFF) hot-swappable SAS/SATA/NVMe drive bays. With a full compliment of 24x storage bays up front the optional media bays with 2x 2.5-inch drives, optical drive and management ports is not supported.
2x to 4x 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors can be installed on the HPE ProLiant DL560 Server. The hardware configuration supports processors with a minimum of 4x physical cores or a maximum of 28x physical cores, each. Virtual thread counts range from 8x and 56x, per CPU. When 28x core CPUs are installed in all four sockets, the platform supports a total of 112x physical cores and 224x virtual threads. System cooling is achieved through 6x hot-pluggable fans with N+1 redundancy.
The HPE DL560 Gen10 server supports drive configurations of 8, 16 and a maximum of 24 x 2.5-inch drives housed in three separate up-front drive cages. Supported drive types include SAS, SATA and NVMe HDD and SSD storage devices. Only 12 NVMe drives can be installed but will require additional specific PCIe risers or a discrete Smart Array HD/RAID controller. The integrated SATA controller can RAID up to 10 storage devices. Using 24 x 15.3TB SATA SSDs the system will provide a top capacity of 367TB of storage.
Each CPU socket supports 6x memory channels with 2x DIMM slots per channel. With 12x DIMM slots per socket, and all 4x processors installed, there are a total of 48x active DIMM slots on the system board. Depending on the generation of the installed processors, DDR4 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM), Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM), Non-Volatile DIMMs (NVDIMM), and Persistent Memory modules (PMem) are compatible with the HPE DL560 Gen10 Server. There are two maximum memory configurations available on this system. One option uses standard DRAM modules, and the other Persistent Memory modules (PMem). 6TB of memory can be achieved through 128GB DDR4 DRAM modules while 12TB of memory is achieved through 512GB PMem modules. PMem modules are only supported using 2nd generation intel Xeon Scalable processors, while NVDIMMs are only compatible with 1st generation CPUs. Memory speed is dependent on selected CPUs, memory modules, and memory configuration.
Eight PCIe slots are supported using three separate optional riser configurations for the Primary, secondary, and tertiary risers. Additionally, an optional 4-port NVMe Mezzanine card supports up to eight NVMe drives, does not take up any of the PCIe slots, and resides on the CPU Mezzanine Board that supports processors 3 and 4. PCIe risers can be used to support a number of Gen10 Smart Array HD/RAID controllers, additional network cards for enhanced I/O, and to support NVMe drives up front. If installing a Tertiary riser, only two PSUs are supported as there is not room for the riser with four PSUs. A Flexible Lan on Motherboard (LOM) provides other options to enhance network capabilities with a choice of 1 Gb, 10 Gb, 25 Gb or 10 Gb base-T Ethernet or converged networking. The system also features integrated graphics support. Not all PCIe slots will be available with only 2x CPUs installed.
HPE Integrated lights Out (iLO) Standard with intelligent Provisioning is embedded for local and remote monitoring of the HPE DL560 Server. HPE iLO Advanced Premium security Edition provides even more functionality. HPE OneView Standard is available for download and simplifies management for automation across servers, storage, and networking—and across generations of HPE servers. OneView Advanced supports software-defined functionality not present on the Standard version.
Designed for intensive computational tasks such as data center applications and virtualization, the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 Server is a dense 2U chassis that can support 2-4 CPUs. The system is compatible with both 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Up to 12TB of memory is achieved using PMem modules or up to 6TB using standard RDIMMs or LRDIMMs. There are options supporting 8-24x Small Form Factor drive bays on the front of the system, which can include SAS, SATA or NVMe drive formats. Depending on the number of CPUs installed and the optional risers installed, up to 8x PCIe slots are available for expansion purposes.
