The HPE XL675d Gen10 Plus GPU Server supports a single or dual AMD EPYC 7003 Series processor with up to 64 cores each and a TDP of up to 280W. When all 32x slots are filled with Registered 128GB memory modules, it can support up to 4TB of memory. The memory module slots, CPUs, and 4x NVMe SlimSAS connectors—each with an x8 connector width that can support 2x NVMe drives—are all supported by the compute unit. The mid plane assembly located in the chassis just behind the bank of 15x fans connects the compute unit and the GPU tray to one another.

In each of the two drive cages, there can be 8x 2.5-inch SAS, SATA, or NVMe drives, for a total of 16x drives bays on the front of the HPE Apollo 6500 Gen10 plus chassis. The embedded controller, which can accommodate up to 8x SATA drives or 7x NVMe drives, also affects how the front 2.5-inch drive bays are configured. The NVMe U.3 premium backplane is required for support of NVMe drives. A standard backplane is the option used in the other SAS or SATA configurations. For the primary and secondary risers, the server features 4x x16 PCIe 4.0 low-profile slots; for the tertiary riser, it has 2x x16 full-height half-length PCIe 4.0 slots. The other slots in the tertiary riser can be used for HPE Smart controllers or a boot device to preserve the upfront storage. Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) is optional on this platform for increased efficiency and power density.
Also supported in the Apollo 6500 Gen10 Plus chassis, is the half-width, single-socket HPE ProLiant XL645d Gen10 Plus server. Two of the HPE XL645d server nodes can be installed with each assigned 8x of the upfront storage bays. 2x separate GPU trays are used with this compute unit, each offering half of that supported by the XL675d compute unit.
