A supercapacitor with flash memory module is standard on this system providing a failsafe in the event of a power failure. Drive types supported include SAS SSDs, SAS HDDs, SATA SSD and HDDs, plus optional U.2 NVMe SSDs as an optional superfast cache. With additional expansion enclosures attached, it can be outfitted with up to 448 drives or via scale-out with other Infortrend-series appliances, up to 1792 drives per cluster, maximum. General block-level cache support is listed at 2TB. Along with the rest of the GS 1000 G3 lineup, this platform has 2x 12Gb/s SAS expansion ports and additional options for Host Boards supported in the controller.

Infortrend EonStor GS 1012 G3At least 24GB of memory is required, per controller, for enabling Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA). A number of different host Boards are supported offering support for Fiber Channel, SAS, RJ45, SFP+, and SFP28 for RDMA applications. There are several just a Bunch of Disks (JBOD) expansion enclosures that can be attached to this system for scale-out. Additional expansion enclosures are daisy-chained to the GS unit and are automatically recognized by the EonOne software. EonOne software features and intuitive browser-based user interface and provides for scale-out, snapshots, and local and remote data replication. Optional advanced features are available with an additional license.
