Equipped with advanced data protection capabilities to safeguard your digital assets, the Infortrend EonStor GS 2012 storage supports up to 8GB to 64GB DDR4 cache memory with a single controller, and up to 16GB to 128GB DDR4 cache memory with dual redundant controllers. Similarly, the system supports 12x 3.5-inch drive bays compatible with SAS or SATA HDD or SSD configurations. The drive interface supported is up to 6Gb/s SATA or 12Gb/s SAS. A super capacitor with flash module provides support for the cache backup in the event of a power failure. Another one of the performance features on this system is GPUDirect, which bypasses the CPU and system memory to directly address the host system GPU for maximum efficiency and low latency. The differentiating factor between these platforms are the controllers, which offer choices for processors, memory capacities and NICs.

Infortrend EonStor GS 2012 Storage rear view

Block level protocols include FC, iSCSI, and SAS. Each GS unit can be connected to JBOD expansion enclosures to add up to 896 drives through scale-up expansion. By using additional Infortrend series appliances per cluster for scale-out, the maximum number of drives supported can reach 3584 drives. The back of the EonStor GS 2012 supports dual onboard SAS expansion ports, an ethernet management port, a mini-USB connector, and 2x host board expansion slots for different speed ports. Some of the supported operating systems include OpenStack Cinder, Citrix XenServer, macOS X, and Windows Server, to name a few. To manage the storage appliance independently, Infortrend offers EonOne to help manage clusters and multiple appliances performance, capacity usage, and system configurations from an intuitive web-based interface. Two redundant 460W 80 PLUS Bronze rated power supplies provide the system’s power.
