The ST3C and RT3C configuration options also support U.2 NVMe drives. Additional expansion enclosures increase the drive capacity to 896x. Using scale-out, up to 3584x drives can be supported per cluster. In addition to the single CPU, each controller has a default cache memory capacity of 8GB of DDR4 memory that can be increased to 192GB. Each controller also houses dual SAS expansion ports as well as a dedicated LAN management port on the rear. 2x host board slots are also available for the installation of optional NICs. The optional host boards are compatible with SFP+, RJ-45 ports, SAS, and Fiber Channel (FC) options. With one 100GbE (QSFP28) RDMA network interface controller (NIC) installed in 2x host boards will provide a maximum throughput of 100Gb/s. For RDMA applications at least 24GB is required per controller. Varying speeds and port configurations are available to choose from depending on your needs.
