Designed for NAS and SAN environments, the Infortrend EonStor GS 3060 Gen3 Storage appliance is housed in a 4U chassis. Accessible from the top of the system, 60x 3.5-inch drive bays can be populated with both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA/SAS drives. This appliance has four different configurations. The GS 3060ST3 houses a single compute controller, while the GS 3060ST3C also has a single controller with U.2 SSD cache. Other options include the GS 3060RT3, which houses dual redundant controllers, while the GS 3060RT3C houses dual controllers too, with U.2 SSD cache. Each controller supports a single Intel Xeon D processor with 4x cores.

The ST3C and RT3C configuration options also support U.2 NVMe drives. Additional expansion enclosures increase the drive capacity to 896x. Using scale-out, up to 3584x drives can be supported per cluster. In addition to the single CPU, each controller has a default cache memory capacity of 8GB of DDR4 memory that can be increased to 192GB. Each controller also houses dual SAS expansion ports as well as a dedicated LAN management port on the rear. 2x host board slots are also available for the installation of optional NICs. The optional host boards are compatible with SFP+, RJ-45 ports, SAS, and Fiber Channel (FC) options. With one 100GbE (QSFP28) RDMA network interface controller (NIC) installed in 2x host boards will provide a maximum throughput of 100Gb/s. For RDMA applications at least 24GB is required per controller. Varying speeds and port configurations are available to choose from depending on your needs.
