Infortrend EonStor GS 4016 Gen3 Storage

Housed in a 3U chassis, the 16-bay Infortrend EonStor GS 4016 Gen3 Storage appliance delivers read speeds of 16GB/s and write speeds of 12GB/s. It is ideal for SAN and NAS environments and comes in two configurations. The first option, called the GS 4016S3, has a single controller while the second option, the GS 4016R3, houses dual redundant controllers. Each controller supports a single Intel Xeon D 6-core processor and up to 192GB of cache memory. Another one of the performance features on this system is GPUDirect, which bypasses the CPU and system memory to directly address the host system GPU for maximum efficiency and low latency.

The front of the Infortrend EonStor 4016 Gen3 houses 16x 3.5-inch drive bays with support for 2.5-inch drives. Up to 896x drives are supported via expansion enclosures or up to 3584x drives via scale-out per cluster. A controller supports a single Intel Xeon D 6-core processor with a default cache memory of 8GB. The memory can be upgraded to 192GB. Each controller houses 2x SAS expansion ports, a dedicated management port, and 2x Host Board slots for optional NICs. Fiber Channel (FC), SFP+, RJ-45 ports, and SAS options are available providing varying speeds and port configurations. Two base platforms are available for the Infortrend GS 4016 Gen3 Storage system.

The single controller configuration is very simple to upgrade with the addition of a second controller. Daisy-chaining this platform with other JBOD expansion enclosures offers up to 896x drive bays. SAS, SATA, and U.2 NVMe drives are all supported along with a full range of RAID options for data security. System management is achieved via Infortrend’s EonOne web-based management software tool. Dual 530W 80 Plus power supplies power this system.
