Behind the optional front panel there are 25x 2.5-inch SAS or SATA HDDs/SSDs, which can be scaled up and expanded when connected to JBOD expansion enclosures. A total of 448 drives are supported with within 15x mixed expansion enclosures, with dual redundant SAS expansion boards up to 896 drive maximum are supported. The system can also scale-out to up to 3584 drives with over 70PB of storage capacity, per cluster.

The Infortrend GS 4025 Gen2 is part of the GS 4000B Gen2 family of storage appliances and supports either a single controller or dual redundant controllers. A single Intel Xeon D 8-core processor installed each controller. By default, the system provides 8GB of cache memory, which can be expanded to 256GB of DDR4 cache memory when configured with a single controller. In a dual-controller setup, cache memory expands from a default of 16GB with the option to add up to 512GB. With dual controllers, it features up to 4x optional host board slots, accessible from the rear of the chassis. The dual-controller configuration ensures continuous operation if one controller fails, leaving the other to automatically take over within seconds to prevent system downtime. The appliance can achieve throughput speeds of up to 11GB/s for read operations and 8GB/s for write operations.
