Offering entry-level storage capabilities, the Infortrend EonStor GSe 1016 Gen2 offers a 3U chassis with a single controller. This system allows SMBs and SMEs to integrate and expand their local SAN or NAS storage into cloud services in a simple, cost-effective manner. Featuring 16x 3.5-inch storage bays compatible with SAS and SATA storage devices, with additional expansion enclosures the system can scale-up to 448 drives, per appliance.

Additional Information

Through scale-out expansion with other Infortrend storage appliances, the Infortrend GSe 1000 Gen2 Appliances can provide up to 3,136 drives, per cluster. The single controller features a 4-core Intel Atom processor with 8GB of DDR3 cache memory by default that can be expanded to up to 16GB. Additionally, the system has 0.6TB of SSD cache to ensure no data is lost in the event of a power failure. The controller offers 4x 1GbE RJ45 ports for host connections plus a single 12Gb/s for connecting additional expansion enclosures. As an option, a host board can be installed offering more connections for both host and expansion enclosures.

Offering easy integration with existing LDAP directory services and Microsoft Active Directory (AD) enables Administrators to easily configure shared folder access by user account through ACL. Management of the system is through Infortrend’s EonOne web-based management software tool, which can help with productivity, configuration, and capacity usage, all from a centralized user interface. There is a full range of RAID options for performance and resilience to choose from with several storage protocols supported.
