With scale-out via other Infortrend series appliances, the Infortrend EonStor GSe 2024U can support up to 3,584 drives maximum. The single controller features a single Intel Xeon D 2-core CPU with 8GB of cache memory by default and the option to increase to 64GB. The controller also has a supercapacitor and flash module to ensure data is still saved in the event of a power failure. There is a single Ethernet management port and 2x slots for installing optional host boards which will provide a variety of host ports and link connections depending on your choice. Host board options include 2x ports for connecting expansion enclosures and 2-4 ports for connecting host systems. For Remote Direct Memory Access or RDMA you will need host boards with 25Gb/s SFP28 with either 2x ports or 4x ports.
For data resiliency or performance, a number of RAID options are available. The system offers inline compression and offline deduplication to reduce the storage capacity required. The system is managed via EonStor, a web-based software tool designed to increase productivity, manage clusters, capacity usage and system configurations.
