Offering unified storage to small and medium-sized businesses, the 12-bay Infortrend EonStor GSe 3012 Gen3 offers performance and easy scalability. It has 12x drive bays and a single controller with 2x slots for optional host boards. Scale-up through the addition of other Infortrend enclosures can provide a maximum of 896 drives within 15x mixed expansion enclosures. through scale-out with other Infortrend-series appliances, this platform can scale to 3584 drives, per cluster.

The controller on the Infortrend EonStor GSe 3012 Gen3 storage appliance has a single Intel Xeon D processor with 4x cores, 4x onboard 1GbE ports for network communications and a single SAS expansion port. 8GB of DDR4 cache memory can be updated to support up to 192GB of memory. Drive types supported include, SAS, NL-SAS, SATA SSDs, SATA HDDs, and NVMe U.2 for SSD cache. The system also features a maximum of 4TB of SSD cache for block-level storage applications. Offering the ability to expand local SAN and NAS storage into cloud services, this appliance is powered by dual 530W or 800W 80 PLUS Bronze PSUs.

To prevent data loss in the event of a power failure, the system is equipped with a cache backup module (CBM), which includes a supercapacitor and flash module. To minimize risk from unexpected occurrences, the GSe system supports several backup options including, Intelligent Drive Recovery (IDR), snapshot, local/remote replication, and file-level sync. There are also several RAID options to choose from depending on your storage needs for resilience and performance. A number of private and public cloud services are supported including Amazon 53 and Microsoft Azure. Using Infortrend’s management software suite EonOne, Administrators have access to an intuitive web-based application to easily manage clusters and multiple appliances, monitor performance and capacity usage, with complete system configurations.
